Homework Tasks

Our teacher has set our class individual homework over the past couple of weeks - all of which are related to our group project and will help in terms of research and planning stages for the task.
The following are the tasks in which we were set:
- Top Ten Music Videos and Commentry
- Research of a Music Video Director
- Analysis of 3 Music Videos
- Analysis of 3 Music DVD Covers
- Analysis of 3 Music Adverts

The homework will all be posted on the group blog, but by the different members in our group so that at the end of each post, our work can be marked by our name.

These homeworks will help us with our own projects as we have to create a music video, advert and DVD cover of our own. Therefore we will be able to see conventions and stereotypes of these advertisements and apply them to our own. For example we noticed that music videos vary as it depends on the artists therefore we did artists like Katy Perry but also All American Rejects to compare the genres, styles etc. This let us decide on our song and artist choice which then lead us onto narrative ideas, as a result this was a great starter for the project as it got us in the right mind of thinking to begin our project.

Introduction

Hi and welcome to our A2 Media music video project. In our group we have the lovely Faye, Rachael, Sherry & Sophie. This blog will showcase our groups work throughout the project including the planning, drafting, filming, creating and evaluation stages along with any other developing work. During this project we will be researching into the background of music videos and advertising them, as this will assist us to select the target audience, genre of music and narrative concept. The song we are using for the music video is Yellowcards’ Everywhere.
